A Logofai logo review report showing a 3.5 out of 5 score, written verdict, descriptor tags and sub-scores for legibility, originality, scalability, balance and colour
01

What is a logo review? The report, explained.

A logo review is a structured critique that scores a logo against the criteria that decide whether it works in practice: legibility at small sizes, scalability, visual balance, colour harmony, one-colour behaviour, originality and accidental readings. Logofai scores each out of 5 and combines them into one weighted score. Five of the seven are measured directly on the artwork rather than estimated: the file is rasterised, stroke weight is calculated at 32 pixels, contrast is checked as a WCAG ratio, the visual centre of mass is compared with the artwork’s true centre, and the palette is read from the pixels themselves. AI judges the remaining two, originality within the category and unfortunate readings, and writes the action plan. Every review ends with two to four prioritised fixes, each with its impact and effort. A review costs 3 credits and accepts any PNG, JPG or SVG, including logos made elsewhere.

Most logo feedback is either a friend being polite or a forum thread of opinions. A review answers the questions that actually decide whether a mark survives contact with the real world: does it hold together as a favicon, does it still read when the colour is stripped out for a stamp, does the eye see something you did not intend.

Because the measurements come from the artwork, the same logo always produces the same numbers. Nothing is estimated from a description of your brand, and nothing depends on which day you ran it. The written parts of the report are given those measurements first, so the words agree with the evidence instead of contradicting it.

02

How is a logo scored? Measured first, judged second.

Two engines produce the report, and the report tells you which one produced each line.

Measured on the artworkCalculated and repeatable
  • Your logo is rasterised into an ink mask
  • Stroke weight expressed at 32 pixels, contrast as a WCAG ratio
  • Detail retention when reduced to favicon size
  • Centre of visual mass against the artwork’s true centre
  • Palette read from the pixels and grouped into hue families

Same logo in, same numbers out.

Judged by AIThe things that need an eye
  • Originality within its category
  • Unfortunate readings, shapes that resemble something unintended
  • Fit for the brand’s industry and audience
  • The written verdict, the descriptor tags and the action plan

The model is given the measurements first, so its writing agrees with the numbers.

03

What gets scored? Seven dimensions, one score.

Each dimension is scored out of 5. The headline score is a weighted average rounded to the nearest half point, with the measurable dimensions carrying the most weight.

DimensionHow it is scoredWeightWhat decides the score
LegibilityMeasured1.2Effective stroke weight at 32 pixels and contrast ratio against its background. Thin strokes and low contrast both pull it down.
ScalabilityMeasured1.2How much of the shape survives being reduced to favicon size, plus proportions. Proven visually by the size ladder in the report.
Balance & alignmentMeasured1.0Distance between the visual centre of mass and the artwork’s true centre. Sideways lean counts for more than vertical weighting.
Colour harmonyMeasured1.0Number of distinct hue families and the contrast between them. Four shades of one blue count as one colour, not four.
One-colour useMeasured0.8Whether the dominant colours stay distinguishable once colour is removed. Matters for stamps, engraving and single-colour print.
OriginalityAI1.0How distinctive the concept is within its category.
MisinterpretationsAI0.8Accidental shapes, unfortunate readings and cultural issues.

Does your logo hold up at 32 pixels? See it, do not guess it.

The report renders your actual artwork at 128, 64 and 32 pixels, at true scale, so the scalability score is something you can check with your own eyes.

Can a review fix the logo too? That is the difference.

Every other logo review ends at the verdict. It can tell you the fine strokes will break at small sizes, and then you are on your own. Because Logofai also generates, each fix arrives with a ready-made instruction.

One fix from the action plan, with its priority, impact and effort

For a logo made in Logofai, Fix this opens the refine form with the instruction already written, so diagnosis and cure live in the same place. Refining costs its own credits, and you choose which fixes to apply. Nothing changes on its own.

For an uploaded logo the button copies the instruction instead, so it still works wherever you edit. The natural sequence is to generate, review, fix, then publish the brand guidelines once the mark is right.

What is in the report? Six things, one private link.

A single self-contained page you can print, or share with a client or teammate.

01Score and verdict

The headline score out of 5, a one-sentence verdict, descriptor tags and every sub-score.

02Action plan

Two to four prioritised fixes, each with the problem it solves, its impact and its effort.

03Size ladder

Your artwork rendered at 128, 64 and 32 pixels, at true scale. Proof, not assertion.

04Balance overlay

The visual centre of mass marked against the artwork’s true centre.

05One-colour test

The mark in a single colour, the way print, stamps and engraving will use it.

06Measured palette

Every colour read from the artwork itself, with HEX and RGB values.

Every report gets an unguessable private link and is marked noindex. Nothing is public unless you share the link, and you can delete a report at any time.

FAQ

Logo review, answered.

What is a logo review?

A logo review is a structured critique that scores a logo against the criteria that decide whether it works in practice: legibility at small sizes, scalability, visual balance, colour harmony, one-colour behaviour, originality and accidental readings. A Logofai review scores each of those seven dimensions out of 5, shows the evidence behind every score, and ends with a prioritised list of changes worth making.

Does it work with a logo I did not make in Logofai?

Yes. Upload any PNG, JPG or SVG and you get the same report, including logos we had nothing to do with. Logos generated in Logofai gain one extra ability: applying a fix in a single click, because the refine form opens with the instruction already written.

Is this just an AI opinion?

No. Five of the seven scores are calculated directly from your artwork: effective stroke weight at 32 pixels, contrast ratio against the background, how much detail survives at favicon size, where the visual weight sits compared with the true centre, and how the colours behave once colour is removed. AI judges the remaining two, originality and accidental readings, and writes the action plan.

What does a logo review cost?

A review costs 3 credits and is available on every plan, including the 15 free credits every new account starts with. No subscription is required to run one.

Is my logo kept private?

Yes. Each report gets its own private link that cannot be guessed, and search engines are told not to index it. It is only visible to someone you send the link to, and you can delete it at any time.

What do I do with the result?

Every review ends with two to four prioritised fixes, each written as a concrete change with its impact and effort. For logos made in Logofai, one click opens the refine form with the change already written, so you can act on it immediately. Refining costs its own credits.
