How it works

How it works. Three steps.

  1. 01Describe your business

Write one sentence with your business name, what you do and where, like Rivera Roofing, a family roofing company in Austin, Texas. Add a feeling or a color if you already have one in mind. That is all the design brief the tool needs.

  2. 02Pick a logo

Choose one to four images per run at 3 credits each. Each concept is drawn for your description rather than pulled from a template library. Generate again for a new direction, or refine the one you like by describing the change, such as a bolder name or a darker blue.

  3. 03Get the files and brand kit

Download PNG or JPG right away, or an SVG vector on a subscription for sign shops and printers. From the same logo, build mockups, a brand kit board and brand guidelines, so your truck, your website and your invoices all match.

Most owners go from a sentence to a usable logo in a single sitting. The part worth slowing down for is choosing, so show two or three options to someone who knows your customers before you commit.

Before you start, decide three things: the exact business name as it will appear on your sign, the one or two services you most want to be known for, and whether you want to look established and traditional or modern and friendly. Those choices shape everything the logo maker produces. If you are not sure, generate one direction of each and put them side by side on a mockup of your van or storefront. The right answer is usually obvious within a minute.

By business type

Logos by business type. Real examples.

Every kind of small business has its own constraints. A contractor’s logo has to read on a truck door, a cleaning company’s has to earn trust on a van in someone’s driveway, a law firm’s has to emboss on letterhead, and an accountant’s lives small in client portals. The logos below were generated with Logofai for typical small businesses and are shown untouched. Each sits next to the direction behind it, and each links to a full page of examples for that kind of business, with the formats that decide whether a logo holds up.

What you get with your logo

A logo on its own is only the first file a small business needs. Within a week you will be asked for a vector file by a sign shop, a square image by Google, a transparent version by a printer and something that fits a business card. Logofai builds those from the same approved logo, so nothing is redrawn by someone else along the way.

An SVG vector logo

Every logo downloads as PNG or JPG. On any subscription you can convert it to an SVG vector for 3 credits, the format sign shops, vinyl cutters, embroiderers and printers ask for, and downloading the same SVG again is free.

Mockups of your logo in real life

See the logo on a van, a shop sign, a polo shirt, a coffee cup or a business card before you pay for any of them. The logo mockup generator places your mark on photoreal products in about a minute.

Brand guidelines

A short guide to your colors, fonts and logo usage, so the next person who prints a banner or builds your website uses the logo the way you intended. See how brand guidelines are built; they are included on every paid plan.

Social sizes and business-card-ready files

The Brand Pack bundles the logo in every format and color version, favicons, correctly sized social images and your brand kit into one download, available on any subscription. It is the folder you hand to a printer, a web designer or whoever runs your social accounts.

What a small business logo costs

Ranges checked September 2026

There is no single price for a logo, because you are paying for very different amounts of time and thinking. These are the typical ranges in the United States, taken from our fuller guide to how much a logo should cost.

OptionTypical costBest for
DIY and AI toolsFree to low costA professional starting point, fast
LogofaiFree to start (6 credits), then from $9.99 a monthA logo plus the files and brand kit a local business actually uses
Marketplace freelancersRoughly $50 to $500A simple logo with a few revisions
Experienced independent designersRoughly $500 to $5,000Real discovery and a considered identity
Studios and agencies$5,000 to $50,000 or moreEstablished companies with a large rebrand

For most new local businesses, the sensible order is to start inexpensively, use the logo in the real world for a few months, and invest more once you know what customers respond to. A designer earns the fee when your market is crowded, when you are rebranding a business people already know, or when the logo has to carry a whole franchise. Paid Logofai plans are $9.99 a month for 150 credits, $29.99 for 450 and $99.99 for 1,500, yearly billing takes 10% off, and failed generations refund automatically.

Where your logo has to work

A small business logo lives a hard physical life, and in the United States the places that matter most are rarely a website:

  • Truck wraps and van magnets: seen at a stop light or in a customer’s driveway, so the name must read in a second from across the street.
  • Yard signs: read from a moving car, which rules out thin lines, pale colors and long taglines.
  • Uniforms: embroidered polos, caps and hi-vis vests cannot hold hairlines or gradients, so keep a bold one-color version.
  • Google Business Profile: often the first place a customer sees your logo, as a small square beside your reviews and the map.
  • Estimates and invoices: printed, emailed as a PDF or scanned, usually in black and white.

If a logo survives a truck door and a black-and-white invoice, it will survive everything else. Our pages on contractor logos and cleaning company logos show what that looks like in practice, including the marks that fail the test.

FAQ

Good questions.

How much does a small business logo cost?

It depends on who makes it. AI and do-it-yourself tools cost little or nothing to start, marketplace freelancers typically charge roughly $50 to $500, experienced independent designers roughly $500 to $5,000, and studios and agencies $5,000 to $50,000 or more. On Logofai, new accounts get 6 free credits with no card required, a logo image costs 3 credits, and paid plans start at $9.99 a month for 150 credits.

Do I own the logo I make?

Yes. Under Logofai’s Terms of Use you own the assets you generate and may use them for your business, including commercially. That covers logos, brand kits, design systems, mockups and every other output, whether you made them on the web or in the app.

Can I trademark a logo made with Logofai?

We can’t give legal advice about your specific mark. In the United States, trademarks are registered through the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), and whether a mark can be registered depends on things like how distinctive it is and whether it is too similar to existing marks. Before filing, search the USPTO trademark database and consider talking to a trademark attorney, who can advise on your situation.

Will my logo work on a truck or yard sign?

It can, as long as the sign shop gets the right files. Truck wraps and yard signs need a vector file, usually SVG, so the logo scales without blurring; on Logofai, SVG export is available on any subscription. Keep a one-color version for vinyl lettering, stencils and single-color signs, and check the logo from across a street before ordering, because detail that looks great on a screen can disappear at a distance.

Can I make my logo on my phone?

Yes. The Logofai apps for iPhone and Android share your account and credits with the web, so you can start a logo on your phone during the day and finish the brand kit on a computer later.
